Short by Vikki.
Doumeki/Watanuki, a requested drabble for me. Doumeki doesn't know the
first thing about cooking.
Leftovers by Anna.
Doumeki/Watanuki, requested drabble for me. <3 Doumeki always gives
Watanuki useless things that somehow come in handy. Or something.
Peeking Inside the Looking Glass
by trixie_chic
Doumeki/Watanuki, could fit somewhere a bit into the series after
Doumeki has settled in a touch. (Volume 4-5ish+) Doumeki is good
here-- understated, quiet, but very clear in his intentions, at least
to Yuuko and himself. Watanuki is only in the background but very much
in character and fantastically filtered through Doumeki. The
device? Classicly canon.
Untitled
by stormantia. [Gen? Doumeki/Watanuki? Up to you.]
Nice
and sombre, kind of gentle, kind of...of strange. Sweet, but creepy and
a bit sad. I really can't explain it, but I love the tone and the feel
of the thing.
Down
This Road by hydrophobia, [Doumeki/Watanuki]
Really
nice in that this could be either way. Kind of loose and flowing and
very full of thought processes and rationale and...and good. It's neat.
I was a little lost at part, but I think she's reading the translations
+ raws they post on the com, and I'm just reading the Random House
editions. ^^;
Cat
Skin by Wyridley [Doumeki/Watanuki a little but mostly plot]
Mostly plot! Fascinating, creepy,
bloody
plot and totally not the kind of goodness you expect to find on ffnet.
It's just so...so suited to the original series, so full of little
details and development of action and...and wow. Really, really good.
Button
Pushing by Neo [Doumeki/Watanuki a little]
At first I almost didn't want to read this, but do. Please, do. It's
just so FUNNY.
Change
by Vikki [Doumeki/Watanuki? Slight.]
One
of those lovely, smooth, short pieces that just settles into the series
and touches bottom without raising much dust. Sweet, effective. Lovely.
Back
by half_sleeping [Doumeki/Watanuki]
The possibility of snark, the snark, the post-snark, the...the snark
goodness is
doubletime and I can't say more than that.
It's
As Easy As... by Ciircee [Doumeki/Watanuki]
I'm
not sure if this is the same Ciircee who wrote one of my favourite fics
of all time, Haikei, but whoever she is, I'm glad she's writing HOLiC.
Hm... it's fun, it's listy-ish, it's cute and it makes my fingers itch
to run out and buy the new volume of Holic that is supposedly out
today. (But is it in store? Hrmm.) Really.
Invoke
by Neo [Doumeki/Watanuki]
Exactly
what could, is, would be. XD It's fun, it's mostly dialogue, and
it's... it's sweet, in a kind of snarky subtle soft little way. So
good. Doumeki is just so comfortable with himself!
Sacrifice:
Backtrack by tea_garden [Doumeki/Watanuki]
Completely
Doumeki-centric in a way I hadn't seen before this, but had kind of
been hoping someone would do. I've seen this the other way, but not
this way. It's kind of dark and I feel like I'm missing something (I
likely am) but it's soooo good.
Is
That A Wish? by Still Ciircee [Doumeki/Watanuki hints, directly gen]
Kind of similar to the thing above with a twist. XD Fun, short, so...
their sentences are very sharp, very Yuuko And Doumeki.
Ran
by Still Ciircee [Doumeki/Watanuki]
FUN.
It's lethargic-ish and summer-ish and smooth, slow, subtle, and then
BAM. The fun hits, and you're giggling, and poor Doumeki and it's still
smooth and slow and subtle and good.
Measure
for Measure by Neo [Doumeki/Watanuki]
Doumeki
knew he was popular, but it's his indifference to that popularity that
makes this story what it is. XD Poor, poor Watanuki.
One
Ordinary Night, with Wisteria by sophiap [Doumeki + Watanuki]
Kind
of gen, but really not. It's lovely in the mini details and tone, and
it's...it's serious. You don't see a lot of serious holic-fic, and this
is really, really nice in that it's not overly heavy or too light, it's
just... you could slip it in there and it would settle just nicely. I
can't express the calm, good feeling I got from this very well, so
just...read it.
Unexpected
by Ciircee [Watanuki + Doumeki]
I
still haven't figured out if this is the same girl, but the writing is
awesome. I love the gentle softness of this, and a slightly different
Doumeki than a lot of fans do. Lovely, lovely, soft.
Getting
a Hands-On Education by still_ciircee [Doumeki/Watanuki/Doumeki]
Oh-ho! This was awesomely hillarious. It's a very novel
approach. (Ohhh that was bad, I'm sorry.) Okay, so it's very..
literary. In a weird way. And er, rated R. XDD SO GOOD. I'm sorry this
just-- it's funny and smutty and full of UST and snark and-- and a
little bit educational, so you'll have to forgive me for
giggling. It's lovely in that even just thinking about it, I
start laughing. XDDD
Between
Insanity and Stupidity by half_sleeping [Doumeki/Watanuki]
Oh,
fun! Poor Doumeki is very patient and poor Watanuki is very put-upon,
and poor you, you get to read this and laugh and smile a little and
then settle in just so.
Midnight
Munchies by melfinalupin [Doumeki/Watanuki]
Very similar in mood to the above, but kind of the reverse and...neat.
Very neat, very sweet.
Porn
by Still_ciircee [Doumeki/Watanuki/Doumeki]
OMG hillarious short-porn. She says not to reply here, since it's rude
to hijak posts and there's a post somewhere on
doumekiwatanuki.
Or her blog. Whatever. At any rate, it's like... the bit you knew was
always inside Watanuki that would only come out in this particular way
in this particular situation once he knew how much power he has,
exactly. XD Funny. XD
Anemone
by Neo [Doumeki/Watanuki]
Oooh,
lovely, lovely, lovely. Seriously, this is a nice, angsty piece that
will leave you smiling. (?! I KNOW.) It's post-series and just so...so
plausible that you'll just want to hug the fic because it's so good and
just what you were looking for. Seriously. READ IT.
Initiation
by Evherie [Doumeki/Watanuki]
Fun!
Doumeki is sneak personified, and Watanuki is oblivious, dense, silly
and very loud, as usual. It's neat, self-contained and very
straight-forward. Enjoyable!
A
Non-Denominational Holiday by
Neo [Doumeki/Watanuki]
Sure,
he’s a Shintoist and it’s actually just a hallmark holiday,
but
Christmas is Christmas and no one ought to be caught alone. Especially
not Watanuki. It's a determined, fierce, sweet story. You'll like it!
Summer Heat
by Anna [Sort of Doumeki/Watanuki, sort of gen]
My
birthday fic! This was lovely and sweet, with that nice mellow tone you
get in really smooth holic fics. Very nice, very simple.
Hidden
Meanings by Laz-chan [Doumeki/Watanuki]
Another
birthday fic! (w007!) Very sweet, and a great job at slipping into
Doumeki's perspective, which is really hard! Laz normally writes Naruto
fics, so this was extra-special. XD
The
Arrow by Suppi-chan [Gen? One-sided Doumeki/Watanuki?]
Short, solid, an excellent, darkish look into Doumeki's mind. It's
holic-dark, not OMGDIE-dark. Enjoyable.
Cake
by Shirasakura [Doumeki/Watanuki]
This
is one of those by-time pieces (At X o'clock, at Y o'clock, etc.) but
it does a great job of playing with Doumeki's character and really
pulling out the little things that make his affection for Watanuki so
good.
It's sweet, funny and straight-forward.
July
by Evherie [Doumeki/Watanuki]
Let me point out that for HOLiC, I rarely rec anything graphic. I mean,
violence, sure, ghosts,
duh, but sex? Not likely. Except
here. And it's not something I thought I
would rec,
but...it's really, reallllly good. And graphic. But
good.
Eat Your Heart Out by Rageprufrock [Doumeki/Watanuki]
I...
this is really weird for me. I love Pru for all sorts of tv fandoms,
like House and SGA, and now all of a sudden she's really into anime
just as I am totally getting out of it. So it's really weird for me!
But I mean, she's a -wicked- author and you will love this story in
particular for a million reasons. It made me so
hungry.
Gen, Misc, Etc.
Untitled
by stormantia [gen]
Very cute, just slightly dark, very Watanuki.
It focuses on the pipe-fox spirit. ^^ Lovely, short and sweet-- not in
the usual way.
Terms
of Agreement by Lifeisame [gen]
Just
short, simple, kind of dark... references to the first volume. It's
neat. I had a really good, strong feeling at the end of it.
Drabble
5 by Lazulisong [Gen? Slight Doumeki/Watanuki maybe]
Bit of a cross-over with TRC (which doesn't even count, really), and
just a funny short drabble. Very nice dialogue. ^^
Tea &
Sympathy by Sexybee [Gen, Cross-over with CCS.]
Short,
smooth, ties a few things together for Touya and leaves some things
hanging for Watanuki. It makes some nice points in a subtle way and
manages to work quite a few things in together neatly without leaving
strings.
Four
Lives Himawari Might Lead (and one she probably doesn't) by
Wingdance [Gen]
Oh, oh, this is so
evil.
Unrepentantly, fully evil. I mean, there's scary stuff and sad stuff
and strong stuff and even something delightfully normal. The fact that
I think the "normal" one is the "probably doesn't" just makes it
better. XD
