The Pen-Friend by
Wendy Richards
Series: The New Adventures of Lois and Clark
Pairing: Lois X Clark
Warnings: complete, AR
Lois was assigned a pen-friend in
public school, but unlike her classmates, she and her pen-friend have
stayed in touch and continue to write... A whole whack of new perspective
on Season one.
Momentum by ___ [Lois/Clark]
He craned his head to look behind the superhero. "Um, Superman? Your ... cape
is ringing."
There's a bit of extraneous exposition here that could be cut out to
trim things down nicely, but the idea is smart, and something Clark,
for some reason (and hell, me and million other people) didn't pick up
on. It begins immediately after the Christmas episode. The strong point
of the story is the great banter between Lois & Clark, and how
casual and generally in character they are when they're
hanging out. Really, quite fun, and I laughed a lot. [Mind you, the
sequel is lame. And this is cheesy. But...fun cheesy.]
Strangers by Missy Gallant [Lois/Clark]
I've been trying to find this story for weeks.
The whole premise of Lois & Clark is that Lois loves Superman but
not Clark and Clark wants the opposite. Once he's achieved that, he can
move forward and be happy. This takes the opposite path. What if Lois
had left Metropolis after the Claude thing and spent a few years
elsewhere working for other papers before coming to the Planet? By
then, Clark would already be established as the top reporter, but
Superman would still not exist. So Lois meets a stranger who has
mysterious powers and no real name, and they become fast friends as she
helps him become Superman. And when she meets Clark, she doesn't
connect the two. So now, Clark can only be happy when Lois loves Superman instead of Clark, and everything is backwards and wonderful. A really great take on the show and how it could have been.
All Stirred Up by Meredith Knight [Lois/Clark]
Another reversal story. (I really do enjoy these, because there were so many ways things could have happened in Lois and Clark but didn't. Everything had so many possibilities!) Instead of finding Clark with amnesia in All Shook Up (The Nightfall Asteroid episode), Lois finds Superman. And he doesn't have a clue who he is.
